MN / NYC Film, Video, and Digital Production Grant Programs
The Jerome Foundation operates production grant programs for individual film and video artists who reside within five boroughs of New York City and Minnesota. These programs serve artists who work in the genres of experimental, narrative, animation, and documentary production. It does not support installation, new media, or interactive work, which are subsidized in other Foundation programs. It also does not support commercial, industrial, informational, or educational work.
Deadlines and Notification
Minnesota Program: The Minnesota Program will once again have an annual deadline for submission. The deadline in both 2016 and 2017 will be September 1. Applicants will be notified of decisions no later than December 31 in each of these years.
New York City Program: In response to the artist survey conducted in February, the Jerome Foundation will implement an annual deadline for the New York City Film, Video and Digital Production Grant Program.
In transitioning from a previous rolling deadline system to a fixed annual deadline, the Foundation will conduct two review panels in 2016. Applications that were submitted since February 1 but before June 1, 2016, will be reviewed by a panel in late summer. Applicants will be notified of decisions no later than October 1, 2016.
Applications submitted between June 1 and September 1, 2016, will be reviewed by a panel in November or December. Applicants will be notified of decisions no later than December 31, 2016.
In 2017, there will be only one annual deadline and one panel review. Applications will be due on September 1, 2017, with a December 31, 2017, notification schedule.
After the 2017 program, the Foundation will assess the impact of a fixed annual deadline and make adjustments, if necessary.
