Poet Jim Moore was awarded $2,400 to spend three weeks in Calcutta, India. He'll research and draft work for a persona poem in the voice of a woman who was born in India, but adopted and raised in the United States. Moore's personal experiences fuel his passion and desire for the journey.

Nicole Niemi, a writer, received $650 to spend 12 days in Tennessee to participate in a master class with noted playwright Horton Foote. The experience is intended to help Niemi hone her craft, develop a new script and broaden her professional network.

Writer Kathleen Patrick was awarded $1,690 to spend two to three week in Gulfport, Mississippi, and three locations in Alaska to conduct research for a poetry manuscript. Patrick will visit with four of her uncles, one in Mississippi and three in Alaska. Her experience will feed AIRMAIL, a collective of narrative poems.

Choreographer, dancer and director of Capriole Early Dance Ensemble Jane Peck received $2,850 to spend four weeks in Sable-sur Sarthe and Brest, France. Peck is a regional specialist in 18th Century French court dance. Her plan is to attend the internationally recognized workshop for dance historians, "Le Academie di Danses et Musiques Anciennes", and research the folk dances of Brittany.
