Dancer Ponepraseuth Suryadhay received $1,450 for ten days of travel and study in Santa Ana, California, and Des Moines, Iowa. In California, she'll meet visit a former mentor in Laotian classical dance. In Iowa, she'll meet with members of the Natasinh National Lao Dance and Music Ensemble. It is Suryadhay's desire to revitalize herself as a dancer and work on making Laotian dance a vibrant part of the Twin Cities community.

Uchizono is developing the Ivy Project, which will premiere at Dance Theater Workshop in December of 1995. This is the second grant authorized for Uchizono's work.

The Zenon Dance Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota, received a two-year grant of $36,000 to commission and perform new dance works by six emerging choreographers. In the 1994-95 season, commissions will be given to Bill Young, Robin Stiehm and a jazz choreographer yet to be selected. This grant marks the ninth consecutive year that the Foundation has awarded funds to Zenon to support choreographic residencies and commissions.

Adedjouma seeks a cultural exchange with black Australian women writers with whom she's been networking for the past two years. The majority of her time will be spent with the Bayanihan Dance Troupe in Manila. Agustin's plan is to investigate as many dances as possible to blend into her modern dance vocabulary.
