ST. PAUL, MN, January 29, 2024— Jerome Foundation is pleased to announce the twelve recipients of Jerome@Camargo residencies, which will take place in 2024-2026. Recommended by a multi-disciplinary panel comprised of artists and arts leaders and confirmed by Jerome Foundation’s Board of Directors, this dynamic group of early-career artists—working across multiple artistic fields, including visual arts, music, literature, dance, performing arts, film, and more—includes: Leila Bordreuil, Ama Codjoe, Carson Faust, Joua Lee Grande, Prince Harvey, Su Hwang, Modesto Jimenez, Gamin Kang, Hasabie Kidanu, Simon Liu, Leslie Parker, and Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay.
While in residence, artists are offered the time and space to think, create, and reflect; to learn from an international community of artists and scholars-in-residence at the Camargo campus; and to connect with resources of the Aix-Marseille-Provence area and beyond. “Inspired by our Founder Jerome Hill’s artistic interests, innovation and risk are among Jerome Foundation’s core values,” shared Jerome President Eleanor Savage, “Nurturing curiosity and diversity of thought are critical ingredients for innovative work. The Foundation is excited to support this opportunity for early career artists in partnership with Camargo Foundation and look forward to what may come from their experiences.”
Brief biographies of each artist can be found below along with descriptions of their proposed research and new work development, addressing deeply personal, socio-political, national, and global themes.
