March 2017 General Program Grantees Announced

The Board of Directors of the Jerome Foundation is delighted to announce the following awards made March 19, 2017 through the Foundation’s General Program—10 grants totaling $298,400. In its fiscal year 2017 (May 1, 2016–April 30, 2017), the Foundation’s General Program made new grant commitments totaling $2,461,650 (out of $3,475,282 in total grants made). 

Program Grants awarded on March 19, 2017 include:

Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Brooklyn, New York, received $20,000 over two years as fiscal sponsor for 600 HIGHWAYMEN (Brooklyn, New York) in support of their development and production of The Total People. Brooklyn Arts Exchange was also awarded $35,000 as fiscal sponsor for 600 HIGHWAYMEN for a Jerome@Camargo residency.

Playwrights’ Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, received $112,000 over two years for its Many Voices fellowship and mentorship program in 2017-18 and 2018-19.

Springboard for the Arts, Saint Paul, Minnesota, received $68,000 over two years in support of artist development and resource programs in 2017-18 and 2018-19.

Zeitgeist, Saint Paul, Minnesota, received $33,000 over two years for its Composer Workshop in 2017 and 2018 for emerging Minnesota composers.

 

Membership and Special Initiatives grants awarded on March 19, 2017 include:

Council on Foundations, Arlington, Virginia, received $29,200 over two years for membership in 2017 and 2018.

DataArts (Cultural Data Project), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, received $14,000 over two years for general organizational/membership support for 2017 and 2018.

Media Impact Funders, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, received $2,000 over two years for membership in 2017 and 2018.

Minnesota Council on Foundations, Minneapolis, Minnesota, received $15,200 over two years for membership in 2017 and 2018. 

National Performance Network, including the Visual Artists Network (NPN/VAN), New Orleans, Louisiana, received $5,000 to support its regional Minneapolis convening, June 12-14, 2017.

Philanthropy New York, New York City, received $2,400 over two years for membership in 2017 and 2018.
