Application Process: Once you have taken the eligibility quiz and reviewed the Policies and Priorities of the program, you may submit an application online or mail/deliver it to the Foundation. Either go to the Apply page and setup a login name and password if you are applying online or download the .pdf of the application. Informational workshops will be conducted by Jerome Foundation staff to answer questions and assist applicants in the preparation of their proposals. Attendance at one of these workshops is strongly encouraged for applicants who wish to receive detailed information about the program or ask specific questions about their projects.
Contact Foundation: The Foundation encourages applicants to contact Foundation staff to ask questions and to discuss potential applications.
Review Process: Proposals submitted to the Foundation will be acknowledged upon receipt. The program staff person coordinating the panel process for each discipline will contact applicants if there are questions.
Three-person selection panels in each eligible discipline review proposals and recommend recipients to the Jerome Foundation Board, which approves all grants. Selection is based on the quality and potential of the applicant's work and the significance and appropriateness of the proposed trip. Applications may be reviewed in a two-step process incorporating a first-round screening before panelists review the remaining applications.
Proposals must be postmarked on or before the due date to be eligible. Please be certain that your application is mailed from a location that prints a postmark date on the envelope. Applications in envelopes without a postmark date received after the deadline will not be accepted.
The Foundation will send notification letters once the Jerome Board of Directors reviews and confirms the panel's recommendations. No information on the panels' recommendations will be provided prior to the letter of notification.
Application Deadline: The application deadline for the 2011 Travel and Study Program has passed. The 2012 deadline will be announced in fall 2011. The disciplines supported in the 2012 cycle are Literature, Film and Video and Dance.
Application Requirements: The application for 2012 will be available in December 2011.
