Grantmaking decisions reflect the Foundation's belief in the vigorous and distinctive voices of artists whose works challenge our thinking and add meaning to our lives.
In its focus on emerging artists, the Foundation seeks to encourage the potential for innovation and excellence. It welcomes work that embodies a celebration of and respect for diverse cultural perspectives.
In addition to its primary grantmaking activities, the Foundation advocates for the support of individual artists; upholds the principle of freedom of expression; encourages new paradigms for arts support; and seeks to contribute to a vibrant critical context for contemporary art.
Proposals are reviewed in terms of whether they make significant
opportunities available to emerging artists to advance their work and their
level of recognition. Students are not eligible for Jerome Foundation subsidy.
